SUMMARY:Teens Art Club - Term 3 2023
DESCRIPTION:This term we will start with making lino prints… scratching the surface and making prints of life beneath the sea. We will then learn ways of seeing as we develop our drawing skills and techniques with a series of interesting ‘still life’ arrangements. And we will complete the term with a personal mixed media project exploring ‘heart and home’. \nPLEASE NOTE: You can still use your CKV before June 30th and book in for Teens Art Club Term 3. To do so please email info@sydneyartspace.com and include your child’s name\, voucher number and DOB to receive the $100 discount before June 30th 2023. \nWeek 1: Scratch the Surface\nBeneath the sea – Lino Print\nThis week we will delve beneath the surface of the sea. We will design and start cutting a lino tile based on your choice of diverse and amazing sea life which live beneath the surface. \n \nWeek 2: Scratch the Surface\nBeneath the sea – Lino Print\nWe will continue making our lino cut and then make a series of lino prints using acrylic paint\, based on your choice of diverse and amazing sea life which live beneath the surface. \nWeek 3: Drawing\nSeeing it all: shells\, skull and bones\nDrawing something helps us to see. It makes us really look. Using charcoal we will look carefully and draw arrangements of shells\, skull and bones. \n \nWeek 4: Drawing \nSeeing it all: fruit and other food\nDrawing something helps us to see. It makes us really look. Using charcoal and coloured soft pastel we will look carefully and draw arrangements of fruit and other foods.  \n \nWeek 5: Drawing\nSeeing it all: random stuff\nDrawing something helps us to see. It makes us really look. Using ink we will look carefully and draw arrangements of random stuff. We will create a still life arrangement of disparate interesting objects. \nPlease bring in an item to contribute! \n \nWeek 6: Mixed Media\nHeart and Home\nMaking art invariably touches on things of the heart and what makes us feel at home in ourselves and in the world. Using mixed media we will create an artwork over 3 weeks expressing our individual take on heart and home. We will mix drawing\, painting\, print\, text\, stitching and collage using various papers\, fabrics\, threads\, found materials and objects to create our artwork. \nWeek 7: Mixed Media\nHeart and Home\nMaking art invariably touches on things of the heart and what makes us feel at home in ourselves and in the world. Using mixed media we will create an artwork over 3 weeks expressing our individual take on heart and home. We will mix drawing\, painting\, print\, text\, stitching and collage using various papers\, fabrics\, threads\, found materials and objects to create our artwork. \n \nWeek 8: Mixed Media\nHeart and Home\nMaking art invariably touches on things of the heart and what makes us feel at home in ourselves and in the world. Using mixed media we will create an artwork over 3 weeks expressing our individual take on heart and home. We will mix drawing\, painting\, print\, text\, stitching and collage using various papers\, fabrics\, threads\, found materials and objects to create our artwork. \n  \n* Please bring an apron or art shirt. Particularly when we are using acrylic paints\, these protect your clothes! \nSketch book\nI intend that this course supports the students own creative journey. They should each bring a small sketch book with them\, to record and develop their own ideas\, dream up their own projects\, and practice drawing. Sometimes in the process of art making there is waiting time\, perhaps waiting for something to dry\, or to take turns in using a particular process or piece of equipment. During these times the student can be using their sketch book. \nCreative Kids Rebate\nYou can use a $100 Creative Kids Voucher if enrolling for a half or full term. To find out all about it and how to apply for your 2022 voucher please go to: www.service.nsw.gov.au/campaign/creative-kids \nNOTE: When enrolling for a course or workshop please make sure you put the appropriate number of students enrolling in the enrolment box.
