SUMMARY:Sculpture Lifeclass Fridays - Term 1 2023
DESCRIPTION:Exploring the human form is a constant source of wonder and no two poses are ever the same\, such is the never ending dynamic of the body! \nIn this course you will learn to see by observing form\, proportional values\, depth\, rhythm and structure. We begin with armature building which is the structure that lies beneath the form and from there we will develop our sculptures through modelling using clay\, plasticine and wax. You will learn about waste moulding and repeat moulding systems. \nNOTE: When enrolling for a course or workshop please make sure you put the appropriate number of students enrolling in the enrolment box.

Join artist and arts educator Christine Simpson to explore a range of techniques/materials focusing on building foundational skills whilst children find and develop their creative expression. \nLocation:\nThe Art Shop Mona Vale\n54 Darley Street\, Mona Vale 2103\n02 9979 6559\ntheartshopmonavale.com.au \nWeek 1: The Spotted Quoll\nSculpture\nChildren will discuss the physical attributes of the spotted quoll and learn various model ling techniques using clay and paper armatures. \n \nWeek 2: The Spotted Quoll\nSculpture\nChildren will complete their spotted quoll sculptures ready for firing in the kiln. \nWeek 3: The Donatello Portrait\nDrawing\nChildren will use charcoal techniques to create a likeness to one of Donatello’s portrait busts. \nWEEK 4: Negative Spaces\nDrawing And Ink Wash\nChildren will draw a composition focussing on negative spaces to create an image.
