Acrylics for beginners to advanced
Exploring a variety of subjects and painting techniques we will unleash your creative passion. Subjects include still life, figurative, abstract and landscape. Throughout the course you will cover the fundamentals of tone, form and perspective.
The course involves painting a new subject every week. You can bring your own reference material, i.e. photos or books, or choose from the many references provided. Rachel is an experienced and passionate painting tutor who has taught a wide range of students both young and old, male and female, complete beginners to advanced students.
Beginners need not be nervous! After your first class you will be astounded by your rapid progress during this course. Learning to paint within a small class guarantees every student lots of individual attention and your motivation will be inspired by having some returning students working around you in class.
During the class you are welcome to enjoy a cup of tea whilst learning painting techniques in a relaxed and nurturing studio environment.
Rachel Carroll is currently exhibiting at Rex Livingston Gallery in Katoomba. Rachel has had numerous solo exhibitions and has been part of numerous group exhibitions in both Australia and overseas.
Pencils or Charcoal, black ink.
A tube of black and white for the first class.
The following weeks red, yellow and blue ACRYLIC paint. These are water based paints and can be diluted with tap water.
A palette or plastic plate for mixing the colours on.
A packet of Square bristle brushes up to size 12 (available from bargain discount stores).
A3 Watercolour paper pad or smaller format if you wish.
A screw cap glass jar water.
A rag & old shirt or apron, closed shoes
Materials provided for $25pp to be paid to the tutor, Please don’t bring a canvas.
