Beginners to Advanced

This dynamic course will introduce you to an exciting approach to painting.

Suitable for beginners wanting to gain confidence with paint through to advanced painters wishing to learn new skills and techniques.

The course will focus on various methods of applying paint and include techniques other than brushwork such as, creating hand made applicators and paint pouring. You will be encouraged to think of painting utilising physically and emotionally charged methods, leading to vibrant, and energetic results.

Looking closely at the work of action painters such as Jackson Pollock we will develop numerous works throughout the course interacting with chance and random occurrences.

Materials list will include;

  • Acrylic paint 
  • Spreader medium
  • Brushes 
  • Pallette knives
  • Sponges
  • Spray bottle
  • Small plastic cups or containers eg yogurt tubs.
  • Acrylic painting paper
  • Canvas unstreched
  • Canvas stretched min 60 x 60
