Encaustics: Wax On Wax Off

Artist Rachel Carroll will provide an introduction to Encaustics (a wonderful lustre filled wax art process that dates back to ancient Egypt) as she takes you through a hands-on journey to understand how to unite mixed media and encaustic techniques.

These workshops are tailored to each individual student and their differing levels of experience to extend your skills set and enhance your perception of encaustic.

COST:

$120 Maximum 8 participants

Materials fee $25 (if you have your own wax, pine boards and tins you can skip the fee but please let us know at time of booking)

BRING:

Please bring paper collage materials, strings and thin fabric to embed onto pine boards. For those that have been before, bring your own collage ideas or learn how to make your own encaustic paints, develop your technical and creative skills in various encaustic and mixed media applications.

Also bring an apron, a smile and your lunch.

NOTE:

There will be lunch break of 20 minutes during the middle of this workshop. Please bring your own lunch.
