This course will offer current Year 12 Visual Arts students the opportunity to develop their Body of Work in a creative studio environment. Supported by experienced Sydney Art Space tutors, students will explore artmaking as a practice and represent their ideas and interests through the interpretation of subject matter and the use of expressive forms.
Classes will focus on building on students existing ideas and experimenting with a range of expressive forms, and techniques based on the students interests, including: painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture (hand building), ceramics, textiles and fibres, rudimentary video and digital photography (expertise in other expressive forms may be accommodated on request). Students will examine where appropriate how other artists have used materials and solved issues through their artworks.
The Body of Work is an art making journey and a process of constant refinement. This course will assist students outside of the school environment to work towards artwork that represents coherent concepts and meanings enabling greater resolution and refinement of participants’ technical skills.
