Exploring Acrylics
Term 1 2017

This Acrylic Painting course will encourage participants to develop their artistic talent by focusing on the colour wheel and understanding colour schemes and relationships in the beginning. Subtractive and additive colour wheels are defined. Then we will explore different styles of painting from abstraction to realism.
In the first 5 weeks each student will conduct a still life or a subject matter chosen by the tutor that everyone begins on together to develop skills and technical knowledge.
In the last 4 weeks participants will be able to choose their preferable personal expression and Farina will provide one on one guidance regarding how each participant can develop their own art work and style. Depending on each participants prior experience you will choose whether to use geometric or organic shapes or abstract forms from nature and the tutor will seek to encourage individual solutions for each student.
This will will enable students to expand their own observational ability and learn how to be innovative whilst enjoying a fun and relaxed environment.
