Handbuilding For The Kiln
Term 3 2016

Christina’s course will explore different hand building and clay armature construction techniques used to enable you to complete various clay forms ready for firing.
Once the participant has understood and practiced these techniques, they will be encouraged to work on their own ideas and projects. Each student will be asked to bring any images, drawings or maquettes (small working models) to begin their creative process. If you are unsure where to begin, Christina will provide a framework for ideas if required.
Patinas for finished, fired works will also be discussed.
Completed works will be taken by Christina for firing and returned for pick up. Additional costs for materials and firing on average $30.
This course caters for beginners to more advanced practitioners. The later will begin on their own projects at the outset of the course whilst those new to this creative medium will gain valuable skills development in the first weeks before launching into their own projects.
