Inspired By Ancient Forms And Symbols
Handbuilding In Clay – 20 March 2016

Explore this ancient art form by using simple tools and/or your hands and fingers to investigate the 3 basic traditional hand-building techniques of pinch pot, coil pot, and slab building as we follow in the footsteps of the venerable clay hand-builders.
This foundation will pave the way for you to explore your creativity and give you a solid and informative start for working in clay. At the end of this workshop you will have made a sculptural vessel using one, or more of these three ancient techniques. You will then be encouraged to take your work home for further finishing and decorating as demonstrated by Christina. Your clay work can then be fired locally at Brookvale Ceramics for a minimal fee, to enjoy a beautiful handmade object of your own making.
