Continue to learn about the exciting encaustic painting process with Rachel Caroll!
We begin by making a mixed media artwork so feel free to bring old sketches or old artworks on paper that could benefit from a bit of work or being turned into a new artwork. If you are a total beginner Rachel will provide a subject for you to sketch and start you on your encaustic journey. All beginners and intermediates are welcome to learn the art of combining mixed media and encaustic in this workshop.
All Materials provided for $25pp payable to the tutor on the day. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org after enrolling if you want your materials supplied.
Otherwise please bring the following materials (no email required) :
- Sketch paper, watercolour paper – A4 size
- Pencils, charcoal & ink, rubber
- Oil pastels and chalk pastels
- Acrylic & oil paint plus powdered pigment
- Encaustic wax
- A medium clean tuna can x 3 and wooden peg x 3
- Collage materials of your choice, old sketches work too
- PVC glue
- wooden panels x 3
- Brushes – various sizes
- Water container
- Palette for your paints
- A smile
- An apron
- And your creative hat
Rachel Carroll has a Master’s degree from the COFA UNSW and has been a practising artist for over 20 years. She has exhibited extensively and has work held in private collections across Australia, New Zealand, USA and the United Kingdom.
