Traditional Hand Building Techniques with Clay
With Christina Ambrose-Keyes – 19 February 2017

Welcome to a fun few hours exploring working with clay.
You will receive comprehensive instruction from Christina who has been a “mud puppy” for over 30 years. She will share with you traditional hand building techniques which will allow you to construct and design functional ceramic ware or sculptural forms.
You will have the opportunity to create your own artwork by bringing along an image, sketch or a small model (known as a marquette) to work off. Your creative ideas will then be transformed into a beautiful piece of artwork which you can then have fired.
Fired ceramic sculpture and functional ware can last over 1000 years.
Lots of creative ideas, practical advice, a sense of achievement and laughter should be the expected outcome!
Venue: Sydney Art Space
Cost: $80 plus materials fee of $40 to pay to the tutor which includes a bag of raku clay $25 and firing costs.
