This course explores more contemporary and unconventional techniques in creating fine art photography.  Ideal for photography, art students and avid photographers wishing to advance their artistic practice beyond the simple ‘point and shoot’ approach.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

  1. Develop your artistic practice beyond the simple approach of ‘point and shoot’.
  2. Discover how various unconventional techniques and approaches can be applied.
  3. Learn how to challenge and overthrow conventions and traditions in the approaches you develop.
  4. Gain inspiration for a new body of work for your portfolio.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED

This course particularly focuses on camera techniques and composition.  Photoshop and other post-production programs will not be specifically covered.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

It is preferable if participants could bring a DSLR camera, otherwise any photographic device they are choosing to concentrate on. Please also bring some examples of your current imagemaking and an artist/s who inspire you!
