An artist from a young age, Kauri joined Sydney Art Space’s adult Sculpture Workshop at age 10 and has since fallen in love with every medium of art. She is a self-proclaimed ‘Jack of all trades’, dabbling in every material describable and eager to try more.
She completed HSC Visual Arts a year early, and her major work earned a spot in the Smart Expressions exhibition, as well as being shortlisted for Art Express. Her major work also received an award at the Mosman Youth Art Prize and a finalist position at Sculpture in the Vineyard.
Kauri was also asked by her art teachers to set up and run her own afterschool art club, which she directed for two years before moving onto online due to Covid. This was done as part of her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award, and she has since been asked back to continue teaching after graduating in 2021, as well as at Sydney Art Space.
