Petra Pinn

Petra Pinn, born in Cologne, Germany, where she originally trained as a textile designer. She has worked as a designer in Italy, Germany and France, before moving to Sydney. Petra is a painter, print maker, sculpture artist and a popular teacher for 10 years.

Petra’s works are mostly figurative. Her intuitive use of pattern and colour and her passion for bohemian life and everything vintage transports the viewer to another place and another time. Petra primarily works with acrylics, oils and charcoal on canvas and wooden boards. She goes back and forth from painting to printmaking, one technique inspiring the other…

Since 1996, Petra has participated in over 30 exhibitions. She is the co-founder of Art For Goats, (creating artworks to raise money for Oxfam’s projects) and co founder of Art School Gallery Cats Studios formerly in Brookvale, Sydney.
