Itinerary

Day 1

  1. Gallery Visit
  2. Camp arrival
  3. Briefing about the next two days

Day 2

  1. Beach walk & Collection – for paraphernalia to add to your sculpture
  2. Draw and conceptualise object to be felted
  3. Begin with basic shape ie: Simple round vessel
  4. Make templates for additional shapes to be added to the basic felted form

Day 3

  1. Felt additional shapes
  2. Stitch complex & simple vessels together, attach collected objects to constructed vessel
  3. Extra option given time: Felt a pebble
  4. Critique felted sculptures
  5. Debrief
  6. Clean and pack up

Cost

Per student – $464 GST incl.

Please note: this costing is based on a maximum of 30 students

Covering: all accommodation, all meals, tuition, art materials, artwork to take home, insurance.

Per Teacher – $288 GST incl.

Covering:  all single occupancy accommodation and all meals

Art materials supplied

Wool tops, wool scraps, felted scraps, poly yarn, lace, floor underlay, soap, dish washing liquid, perforated lids for plastic bottles, bubble wrap, tulle, balloons, pvc pipe, sewing needles, thread, cardboard box.

Students to bring

  • Plastic Bags – 2 grey grocery bags
  • 2L empty clean plastic milk bottle
  • Old towel
  • Drawing paper
  • VAPD visual diary & drawing media
  • Beach towel
  • Linen: pillow case, top sheet or sleeping bag, bath towel

Possible extras

Gallery Visit

  • Potential entry fee depending on required venue and exhibition.
  • Tutor time if required for gallery visit.

Evening activities at The Collaroy Centre

  • 3D cinema with popcorn & drinks: $15 per student
  • Night Games: $25 per student

Linen Supply

  • Includes a pillow case, sheets, bath towel : $15 per student

High School Art Camp Booking Terms and Conditions 2017

We recommend booking at least 6 months in advance to secure your preferred Art Camp dates.

Conditions

  • All bookings are subject to availability, timely completion of the Booking Form and payment of the Deposit, Instalment and Balance to Sydney Art Space.
  • All listed costs are based on a maximum of 30 students and are subject to change until final student and teacher numbers are confirmed.
  • If booking for less than 30 students please contact the Sydney Art Space team to discuss numbers and the amended cost per student.

Booking Terms and Process

BOOKING AT LEAST  6 MONTHS PRIOR TO ART CAMP START DATE

HOLD BOOKING

  • Sydney Art Space will place a Hold booking for 5 days on one prospective booking period to allow the organising teacher to check with their school administration. An invoice for a $2000 non-refundable deposit will be sent to your school when the HOLD booking is placed.
  • After 13 days if Sydney Art Space has not been contacted by your school to confirm the booking dates then the HOLD booking dates will be released.

BOOKING CONFIRMATION & DEPOSIT PAYMENT

  • The booking is considered confirmed only when a completed booking form and the non-refundable deposit of $2000 have been fully received 12 days after placement of the Hold Booking.
  • The booking form must indicate minimum or intended Student and Teacher numbers. Student and Teacher numbers may be altered up to 18 weeks prior to the art camp start date.  

INSTALMENT PAYMENT 

  • A non-refundable instalment payment of $3000 is due 18 weeks prior to the start date of the Art Camp.

FINAL NUMBERS

  • Final student and teacher numbers are to be confirmed by email 18 weeks prior to the Art Camp start date.
  • If final numbers are confirmed after 18 weeks prior to the start date and are less than originally booked the booked group is required to pay 85% of the total camp cost based on the booked student and teacher numbers at 18 weeks prior to the art camp start date.

FINAL PAYMENT

  • The final non-refundable payment of the remaining balance is required 6 weeks prior to your Art Camp start date.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS & POSSIBLE EXTRAS

  • Special dietary or other requirements are to be emailed to Sydney Art Space 6 weeks before your Art Camp start date.
  • Possible extras are to be ordered by email prior to 6 weeks before your Art Camp start date.

PAYMENTS

  • All deposits, instalments and payments are non-refundable.
  • All payments are subject to the Cancellation Policy below.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • If a booking is cancelled less than 4 months prior to the Art Camp start date booked groups will be required to pay 85% of the total Art Camp cost.
  • If a booking is cancelled less than 30 days prior to the Art Camp start date booked groups will be required to pay 100% of the total Art Camp cost.
  • Sydney Art Space reserves the right to terminate a booking if participant behaviour poses a risk to people or property.
  • Sydney Art Space reserves the right to decline a booking.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS

  • Optional extras are to be ordered by email prior to 6 weeks before the art camp start date.

TRANSPORT AND PARKING

  • Transport arrangements are the sole responsibility of the organising school.
  • Buses and cars remaining at The Collaroy Centre overnight must be parked in the car park at the owners’ risk.
