Louise Bourgeois was a French American artist who in her long life worked across drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. One of her most famous works is a 9 m high sculpture of a spider. In this workshop, using charcoal we will draw a spider before composing a wax resist using crayons and watercolours. After morning tea children will plan their spider sculptures made from wire and found objects.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE SYDNEY ART SPACE SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM

Any child who is in the appropriate age range indicated for each workshop can attend, no prior experience is required to partake. EXCEPTIONS: If an older child wants to do a younger child’s workshop eg: 9 wanting to do a 5-8 year course that will be fine as long as the child knows they will be with younger children. We won’t be able to have a 7 year old do a 10-12 year course. Please also note all children must have started school, pre schoolers are not accepted for these workshops.
